What is the Big Heart Circle?

The Big Heart Circle is a select group of benefactors who have been inspired by Genpo Roshi’s work and wish to support our effort to introduce the Big Mind process to people around the world, for the benefit of the world. This amazing teaching tool, and the ancient wisdom behind it, is simply the most powerful process for self-transformation known today and we are giving our lives to the effort to share it with everyone.

The generosity and vision of the Big Heart Circle members over the past year and a half has been crucial to getting our plan off the ground. More help is needed to expand it even further. Please call me if you’d like to know more about what we’re doing.

Big Heart Circle members not only give their financial support, but their moral, spiritual, and intellectual gifts, as well. They work closely with Genpo Roshi on their own spiritual path, and on the larger mission, which is to share their insights and experience with others.

To show our gratitude and appreciation for your donation and support we offer several retreats each year where up to five Big Heart Circle members at a time spend a full week with Genpo Roshi in an intimate and beautiful setting, sharing meals and meditation, and going deep into the Big Mind work. These are retreats you will never forget.

We know most people can’t afford to make a $25,000 or $50,000 donation, but for those who can, this has proven to be a very successful way for us to raise needed money to carry on our work, and to help develop the means to make the Big Mind method available to all people.

What Does Your Contribution Accomplish?

Big Mind, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity with the stated mission of actively raising the consciousness of the world by sharing and teaching the Big Mind Big Heart method, as developed by Genpo Roshi over his long career as a Zen Master. The Big Heart Circle was created as a vehicle for raising the funds needed to accomplish this mission. Since we are an established non-profit organization, at least 90% of your contribution is tax-deductible.

None of the Big Heart Circle donations go to Genpo Roshi; rather, all funds go to support the programs and services offered by Big Mind, Inc. Genpo Roshi receives a modest fixed salary based on his work as Abbot of Kanzeon Zen Center and from other workshops and programs.

Thanks to the contributions of Big Heart Circle members here are some of the programs and projects our organization has been able to accomplish:

•We’ve expanded our worldwide live teaching events and programs, made improvements to our retreat facility in Salt Lake City, and showed thousands of people how to use the Big Mind process in their relationships, their work and in the world at large.
•We have been able to improve our video and internet capabilities. Now we can capture and distribute high quality live recorded Big Mind Big Heart sessions for all the world to see and use over our new website. We’ve touched the lives of more than 100,000 people around the world since last March on our website alone.
•We provided over $100,000 worth of scholarships for qualified students to participate in Big Mind Big Heart training. It is our hope that our work can be more widely used by therapists, counselors, coaches, educators, spiritual teachers and many others around the world.
•We sponsor and support a wide variety of related programs in our local community. Our staffers and teachers work with the local high schools and universities, hospitals, rehab facilities, the juvenile justice system, homeless food and shelter programs, and much much more.
•We’ve donated hundreds of our books and DVDs to the Prison Dharma Network and other worthy organizations.
•We’ve been able to steadily lower the prices of our books, DVDs, web content and live events so that more people can take advantage of Genpo Roshi’s work.
