Genpo Roshi is pleased to announce major changes in the dissemination of his Big Mind process that are intended to encourage its use and extend its benefits to the widest possible audience and to maintain a high level of quality in the use of the Big Mind process.

The title of Big Mind Facilitator, and the policy of credentialing individuals as Big Mind Facilitators have been discontinued as of now.  The title of Big Mind Successor has also now been eliminated and may no longer be used.  Henceforth, Genpo Roshi will go back to offering Zen Dharma Transmission only to those who have completed traditional Zen training, koan study, etc., with him.

The name Big Mind, the Big Mind logo and the titles “Big Mind Workshop, Retreat, Seminar, Class”, or other similar designation, may only be used by Genpo Roshi.

Those who have extensively studied Big Mind with Roshi recognize the level of mastery, depth and experience required to properly use the Big Mind process, and understand the concern to avoid misperceptions and misuse.

Those persons may, with written permission only, utilize the Big Mind process to augment teaching in their particular area of expertise, such as qualified therapist, Zen teacher, spiritual teacher, coach, doctor, etc. The event itself should not be to teach the Big Mind process but rather to teach another subject using the Big Mind process.

For those who have this written permission, all announcements, publicity or advertising of events or offerings in which the Big Mind process is used must credit Genpo Roshi with the phrase “using Genpo Roshi’s Big Mind process.”  Such notices, advertisements or event descriptions should place the emphasis on your subject matter, not on the Big Mind process.

If you have any questions about this new policy please contact Bruce Lambson at the Big Mind office in Salt Lake City.
